The pre-assessment test is the participant’s “Entrance Ticket" into the Course.
The goals of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Recertification Course are to validate that the participant is able to demonstrate:
Class time will be spent on written exam and skill demonstration in a testing environment. No instruction, review or coaching will be provided. Participants are expected to be thoroughly familiar with PALS text material. Both clinical demonstrations and written tests require competent completion in order to successfully complete the course.

External participants must pre-pay tuition ($175.00) with registration. Class size is limited. Early enrollment is encouraged. $175.00 includes materials.
Certification: Successful completion of this program provides the learner with a Certificate of Completion and a wallet size certification card. The certification is granted for 2 years.
CEUs: This program is approved for 4.5 contact hours of continuing education credit by Norman Regional Hospital. Norman Regional Hospital is approved as a provider of Continuing education in nursing by the Colorado Nurse’s Association, this is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission of Accreditation
Important: Prior to the course the participant must obtain and review the program book. (It is very difficult to pass the examination and skill stations without reading the book.) It is recommended that participants obtain a book at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled course. A PALS textbook, $35/book, may be purchased in the Education Center & a limited number of books will be available for checkout in the library.
The book comes with a precourse checklist and pre-assessment test to be completed prior to coming to the Course. It is mandatory. The pre-assessment test is the participant's "Entrance Ticket" into the Course.
Course Prerequisites: Students must adequately prepare to successfully complete the PALS Provider Course. This course does not teach CPR skills, interpretation of rhythm strips, or basic PALS pharmacology. Before taking the course students must be proficient in the following:
