Outpatient Diabetes Individual Consults (Physician referal required)
Appointments may be scheduled for persons with Type I, II or Gestational Diabetes. Topics: diabetes disease process, nutrition management, exercise/activity, medications, monitoring, risk reduction, goal setting & problem solving, preconception & management during pregnancy, insulin pump management, and prevention/detection/treatment of acute & long term complications. Clients are encouraged to bring a friend or family member.
For: Type 1, Type 2: Existing or New diagnosis; Gestational Diabetic Patients

Additional Information:
Initial appointments: Usually one hour with the diabetes dietitian and one hour with the diabetes nurse.
Follow - up appointments: Usually 30 minutes with the diabetes nurse and 30 minutes with the dietitian. Some exceptions apply.
