Great nurse in Oncology. by Janice Threlkeld

Sunday, November 29, 2015

I was a patient in your Hospital from Nov. 19-21 and had exceptional care by Tina on the Oncology floor. She worked tirelessly and never once showed how tired she was. She went above and beyond her duties as a nurse and I want to say she should be commended for her service. I hope you know what a gem you have in her for a nurse.

A wonderful experience by Vicki Bailey

I had a robotic total hysterectomy on 5/11/2015 and had the best experience. Everyone I encountered were friendly, kind, and caring. The surgery was on time and everything went perfectly. Dr Huebert was amazing and everyone on the women's unit was also. I am a nurse and work at a different facility and was totally impressed. Sad I did not receive a Press Ganey to give you all Five's. Thanks for the great care.

We had WONDERFUL care by Family Member of Patient

Friday, August 14, 2015

I just returned from the ER, where my daughter was admitted earlier this (morning). We had WONDERFUL care. RN Mark and the doctors, they were incredibly caring but also very frank and helpful. I cannot thank all of them enough for what they did. I hope you can convey this to them. I cannot say enough good things about how they handled our situation. They should know how much positive difference they made in our lives.

I have the highest praise for all who helped by Family Member of Patient

My wife woke up at 4:30 a.m. with a nose bleed we couldn't control. We went to the Emergency Room at the Norman Hospital West Side (HealthPlex) seeking help. My wife fainted in front of the receptionist desk and immediately the receptionist alerted nurses and they were there immediately. The doctor and nurses took excellent care of my wife. They stopped the bleeding and upset stomach. The doctor recommended she be admitted to hospital for observation and we agreed.

She was moved (to the fourth floor) for the remainder of that day and into the next day. I hope all the people who come in contact with my wife on these days can receive the following information.

Every employee who saw my wife treated her like royalty. There were so many to list, however I don't want to omit anyone because they were all so good at their job. I know they all had different titles, but the nurses, doctors, the doctor's aide, the technicians, the custodians, the meal provider, the delivery people, the patient movers, the lab people, just all the people who came in contact with her. I have the highest praise for all who helped with her recovery.

They were all kind, courteous, fun, professional, intelligent, trustworthy, cheerful and caring. They worked well together and enjoyed each others' company. They are a real credit to their profession. I know they have good PR techniques, however, I think it goes deeper and I believe also because they are just nice, loving people who enjoy their work.

We can't praise them enough because they are all winners, and they are all just great people to know. It has been a real privilege for my wife, myself and my family to be treated so nice by so many gifted people.

These nurses are of great value to the hospital! by Family Member of Patient

I'm compelled to write this letter concerning your nursing staff. My husband had surgery at the HealthPlex. Your nursing staff was very professional. Most individuals lack empathy, however, your nurses showed empathy to the highest degree. Even though the nurses were very busy they always took the time to talk to us and joke around with us.

However, there was one nurse that was so kind it nearly put me in shock. She truly did go above and beyond the call of duty. I went to the cafeteria around 6 p.m. to get something to eat. As I was in the process of paying the cashier someone told the cashier to put it on their bill. I couldn't believe my ears. I turned around and there stood an RN with long blond hair in a ponytail. The only thing I could think to do was give her a big hug - and I did.

While I was standing at the counter trying to absorb what had just took place, the cashier said 'That's what our nurses do.' I truly wish I had gotten her name.

What this kind nurse didn't know is in October I will reach my one year mark of being in remission from colorectal cancer. My husband and I are both on disability. Our finances are as bad as it gets. I was down to my last $10 when this act of kindness took place. Now you understand why this act of kindness was so important to me. I feel that the best thing I can do is write you.

These nurses are of great value to the hospital. Now you understand why I was compelled to write this letter.
