Above and Beyond by Family member of patient
Wednesday, February 6, 2013
(Patient) was admitted to the HealthPlex Emergency Room last Tuesday morning. We are writing this letter to let you know that our treatment was above and beyond. The receptionist to the intake nurse and Dr. Kite and his emergency room team were exceptional. Our family was immediately reassured we had done the right thing coming to the ER by the intake nurse. The team was efficient. Dr. Kite was comforting.
(The patient) was then moved to the Norman Heart Hospital. His nurses, Holly Smith and Brittany Holley and aides, Catherine and Rochelle, tended to his needs and condition as if he were the only patient in their care. We cannot say enough about their service. When it was known that we could go home, they each came by and visited with us and assured him he should stay because he was the “very best patient” they had ever had.
It is not easy to write this letter because everyone that we came in contact with treated us beautifully. I do not have names but would like to mention in this group: the technicians that administered the stress test; the household team, cafeteria workers, and even the man cleaning the floors when we left Tuesday evening. It was a beautiful facility but no facility is that way without the wonderful people you have involved in the care of patients and their families.
Thank You Norman Regional Labor and Delivery by Joe Rohr
Tuesday, February 5, 2013
I’m writing you to tell you how exceptionally wonderful a few of your staff are at Norman Regional HealthPlex Labor and Delivery. My wife and I welcomed my little girl into the world in January, with that our family and my life has forever changed. It was so nice to be greeted by a cheerful staff in the Labor unit; those two wonderful ladies really set this first-time dad at ease, and took unbelievable care of my wife. As she struggled through her delivery, your nurses constant assuring and calming words, seemed to calm the two of us. I could not have asked for anyone more compassionate than those two.
We continued to get lucky when we drew your wonderful nursery and postpartum staff. All I had ever heard was horror stories of how many nurses have little patience answering questions, and dealing with fatigued and cranky families. I was extremely relieved to find this to be untrue. Your staff spent every minute, and more answering the questions that my wife and I had. They went above and beyond to assure my wife was feeding right, they took extra time to assist her in every way. The genuine nurturing love they showed my wife and daughter in their time of need, allows me to rest comfortably. Knowing that my life was being cared for in a way I would never imagine. I cannot begin to thank you and your staff for your exceptional care, dedication, and love you pass onto each of your patients every day. I will always be indebted to your service you bestowed on my girls. A few staff stand out as tops in their field and I’d like to call your attention to them in hopes that you’ll find a way to let them know they do good work.
Namely,
Labor and Delivery - Kelly, Mary
Postpartum Care - Brooke M., Carolyn D., Jennifer D., Kristin O., Kyla C., Mary C.
Nursery Care - Stacey, Vicki, Amy, and Alicia (sp)
All in all, as a Norman resident, I’d like to tell you that we are lucky to have Norman Regional Health System and its fine staff of caregivers in our community. Brilliant hiring and management and concepts such as the 4P’s usually come from the top and today I wanted you to know they impressed all the way down to the customer.
Highest Level of Gratitude! by Patient's Family
Thursday, January 17, 2013
My family and I want to express the highest level of gratitude towards Debbie Noble, Joe and the other staff members that have watched over my father during his recovery from hip surgery. These folks have treated my father as if he were their family members. They all spent time with him chatting and have treated me graciously. I wish I had the ability to give them a donation for all of their efforts and caring. They deserve a recommendation in front of the other staff that we hope they all can learn from these fine folks. We brought my father and mother for surgery all of the way from Georgia because of the surgical staff and Doctor Bill Harris. Doctor Schultz was wonderful in his handling of my father's hip replacement. God bless each and every one of these fine people and your entire staff.
Huge 'Thank You!' by Patient's Daughter
Wednesday, January 2, 2013
I am writing to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone working on the fourth floor. My mother was treated there. She was having a gall bladder attack. She was treated with such loving care and respect during the entire stay. She was very ill and at times a little difficult, but everyone attending her was most patient and caring with her. I would like to extend our appreciation to each one.
I have listed many of these wonderful professionals below. I regret not having gotten last names. Nurses: Kristi, Robin, and Marjorie. Aides: Megan, Linda, and Laura. We want to thank the ‘Surgery Staff’ on Nov. 8 including Dr. Tom Connelly, Andrew, Daniel, Marjorie, and the Transport team.
While my mother was in surgery I was assured by Sandra Polk, a volunteer for the surgery section. She served me coffee and made this stressful time much more enjoyable. Again, we wish to thank all the staff, doctors, nurses, aides, housekeepers and other personnel for improving the quality of our life during our stay.
Very Satisfying by Former Patient
Thursday, December 6, 2012
Following are comments as to the staff and facilities during my recent completion of Cardiac Rehab after Aortic Value Replacement and double bypass surgery. The four staff members - Anthony, Dianne, Sheila, and Terry – who worked nearly all the time with me were excellent. They operate as a well-practiced team and show great concern for the patients.
As you know, many of the patients in this Rehab unite have many problems in addition to heart from age, overweight, and crippling disabilities. Everyone there received the greatest personal care.
Before my retirement, I was president of a corporation with 1,000 employees in several states and believe I know what constitutes a successful operation. Obviously, I highly recommend the above team, and found my experience to be very satisfying with all questions answered as they occurred.
