New Board Member
NORMAN – Norman Regional Hospital Authority welcomed their newest member, Rev. Dr. Barbara S. Boyd.
Boyd is Director of Outreach in Religious Studies Programs and serves on the faculty at the University of Oklahoma. She is also an ordained Presbyterian Minister.
When asked about her role on the board, Boyd responded, “As the newest member of the board, I am still in a steep learning curve. But, I accepted this appointment because I believe in the importance of our hospital system to our community. I know many of the physicians who give their life’s energy and gifts to this hospital and I am delighted to be part of anything that supports their work. This appointment is a good chance for me to participate in an entirely different venue from my university work and I relish the chance to work with this vital Norman agency.”
Boyd was appointed to the Hospital Authority by Norman Mayor Cindy Rosenthal and confirmed by the City Council. She serves on the planning committee.
Boyd is replacing Chuck Thompson, Chairman of the Board. He served on the Board from 1994 till 1999 and again in 2002 until his term was complete in 2007.
