Get Quit Clinic Offers Free Help To Stop Smoking

You know how to smoke, now learn how to quit. Attend a free hour-long workshop for smokers followed by a short question and answer session.

The Get Quit Clinic will be offered Thursday, Feb. 25 at Norman Regional Hospital’s Education Center, 901 N. Porter. There will be two clinics, one at noon and the other at 5:30 p.m.

Led by a tobacco treatment specialist, each clinic will feature an ex-smoker who quit with the help of a treatment option and support.

Topics covered at the clinic include:

  • The science behind nicotine addiction
  • Why it can be so hard to quit
  • Treatment options including over-the-counter and prescription medications
  • Developing a quit plan
  • Understanding slip-ups and overcoming the urge to smoke
