MOORE - From hot and spicy to tangy and tasty, this year’s Moore Medical Center Chili cook-off was a yummy success!
There were 37 chili entries entered into the fifth annual hospital contest on March 26th. Nearly 300 hungry guests visited the hospital for the all-you-can eat event. Like years past, this year all proceeds raised went to the American Red Cross.
“Our goal was to raise $5,000. We ended up making $5,450,” said event coordinator and MMC employee Stacey Kuykendall. “We are so proud to give that money to the Red Cross, an organization that - like Moore Medical Center - helps so many people in our community.”
“This event has quickly become recognized as one of the more enjoyable community events in Moore,” said MMC Chief Administrative Officer and Vice President Ryan Gehrig. “We were very proud to partner with so many community members in the common goal of supporting the Red Cross. The outpouring of support is extremely gratifying.”
Roughly 150 pounds of chili were served. Amy Miller from Coldwell Banker was selected as “Best Overall.” MMC Emergency Department employee Nick Stremble won “Hottest” and Mark Franklin with Drill Right Rig won “Crowd Favorite.”
