Depression and loneliness are not normal feelings as you age. Entering into your senior years doesn’t mean having to deal with fatigue, despair or anxiety.
A new outpatient counseling center – called Inspirations – is helping adults manage these feelings and improve their outlook. Inspirations offers group counseling for senior adults battling issues such as depression, anxiety, or loneliness.
“Meeting the unique challenges of aging requires courage and sometimes a helping hand,” said Laurie Busker, community educator. “At Inspirations we help patients find enjoyment and understanding that senior adults experience a variety of unique and difficult life conditions that can be overwhelming at times.”
Who could benefit from coming to Inspirations? The following are the major signs that you or a loved one could be helped through the program:

“We recommend simply stating to your loved one that you are concerned and wanting them to feel better,” Busker said.
A physician’s referral is not required. Anyone can make a referral, Busker said. Inspirations is covered under Medicare Part B and supplemental insurance.
Inspirations offers therapy and services during the day which allows patients to return to their homes in the evening. Other services include:
