Family Fat Tire Festival

NORMAN - Grab your bikes and roll on over to Lake Thunderbird for a wonderful family event. On Saturday, October 15, the Clear Bay Mountain Bike Trails will host the first Family Fat Tire Festival.

The come-and-go event benefiting youth bicycling and pedestrian programs in Norman will be fun for the whole family. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Family Fat Fire Festival will offer guided trail rides for all ages and abilities including pre-school beginners through adult experts. There will also be other fun bike activities like barrel racing, obstacles courses a training wheel area for the little ones and much more.

Educational booths will offer information on family cycling ideas, bike-to-school tips, helmet fitting and bike safety checks. After a quick ride, families can enjoy inflatables, snacks, door prizes and giveaways. Helmets are required for this FREE event.

The Family Fat Tire Festival is sponsored by Norman Regional Health System, Bike One, the Cleveland County Healthy Community Coalition, Team Phoenix, Backwoods, Ideal Homes and DRS Technologies.

The Clear Bay Mountain Bike Trails at Lake Thunderbird State Park is located on Highway 9, 14 miles east of Interstate 35.
