The Women’s and Children’s Department was the recipient of a new piece of needed equipment, thanks to the generosity of the Norman Regional Hospital Auxiliary. The department received a new fetal heart Doppler, said Mari Newcomer, manager of Women’s and Children’s at the HealthPlex. The Doppler is used on pregnant women who are not in labor but have been admitted to the hospital because of illness. The previous Doppler was older and needed to be replaced. The Auxiliary approved a grant for $1,012 for the purchase of the new equipment. “The new Doppler is better for our patients and we appreciate the Auxiliary and thank them,” Mari said.
