Norman Regional Health System honored for healthy initiatives

For the second year in a row Norman Regional Health System has been recognized from the state of Oklahoma for its commitment to improving employees' health as well as the health of the community.

Norman Regional Health System received the 2008 Certificate of Excellence from the Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business Program. The Health System was recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty to exemplify a healthy environment and healthy employees.

"We know a healthy lifestyle is the foundation for a successful and long-lived life. This recognition proves we are moving in the right direction to make Norman a healthier place to live," said David Whitaker, Norman Regional Health System President and CEO. "We established and have followed through on policies to create and maintain a healthy and safe environment for both our employees and our visitors."

Norman Regional Health System offers several opportunities to help employees reach their health goals. From physical fitness like the Heart and Sole walking program to Quit Smart, a program that helps people kick their smoking or tobacco habit, there are options.
