Norman Regional Launches Guardian Angel Program
Patients at Norman Regional now have a special way to recognize outstanding health care providers for the care they deliver. The "Guardian Angel" program provides a unique opportunity for patients and their families to support excellent healthcare and recognize the caregiver who provided extraordinary care.
"We know that every physician, nurse and Health System employee can make a difference in people’s lives each and every day," said Marilyn M. Geiger, CPA, Executive Director of NRH Foundation. She continues, "We define the term "caregiver" in a broad sense. It can be your physician whom you trust, that special nurse who brings compassion to his or her job, or it may be the employee who delivers your evening meal with a cheerful smile. All of these caregivers are what make Norman Regional Health System a great place to work, practice medicine and receive quality healthcare."
As part of the Guardian Angel program, NRH Foundation is accepting tax-deductible donations of any amount. The gift will support excellent health care – close to home. The caregiver will also be recognized during a ceremony of their peers with a specially designed guardian angel lapel pin.
In addition, grateful patients are encouraged to share their stories of how their guardian angels touched their lives while at Norman Regional. "Patient 2 Patient is an innovative internet message board at NormanRegional.com
," states Brenda Finkle, Director of Public Relations. "Patient 2 Patient has been designed to promote patient conversations on the outstanding care they receive while a patient at one of our facilities and how our caregivers made a difference."
