Dr. McMillan named Vice President, Medical Affairs

William B. McMillan, MD, CPE, was named Vice President, Medical Affairs for Norman Regional Health System. Dr. McMillan is an accomplished physician executive with 18 years of experience in the clinical practice of internal medicine and 15 years experience in healthcare administration and performance improvement. During his career in healthcare, McMillan has served as a senior hospital administrator, hospital board member and a medical staff leader.

In McMillan’s role as Vice President, Medical Affairs, he will provide leadership and support in optimizing performance improvement, patient safety, peer review, medical staff credentialing, infection control, continuing medical education and hospital-physician relations. He will also serve as a liaison between the administration team, medical staff and board of trustees.

McMillan received a Bachelor of Science at Grove City College in Grove City, PA and his M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA. He did his postgraduate training in internal medicine at both Emory University in Atlanta, GA and Presbyterian University Hospital (now known as UPMC) in Pittsburgh, PA. He practiced internal medicine for 18 years in Pittsburgh as both a solo practitioner and a founding member of a group practice.

During the administrative phase of his career, McMillan has been employed by St. Clair Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, VHA Inc. in Boston, CHRISTUS Health in Beaumont, Texas, and Sparks Health System in Fort Smith, AR.
