Breast Care Center

Norman Regional’s Breast Care Center has its own dedicated physician and staff, which includes a nurse navigator to guide patients through the process of a cancer diagnosis. We understand in today’s busy times, people’s schedules are full. That’s why we offer digital screening and mammography appointments on Saturdays.

Cancer Research

Norman Regional Health System provides our cancer patients and their families with the latest information on clinical trials. Our medical and radiation oncologist can refer patients to clinical trials.

Cancer Registry:

The cancer registry is a database designed to collect, manage and analyze data on persons diagnosed and or treated with cancer at Norman Regional Health System.

Registry data is based on the patient’s medical record and information from physician offices regarding demographics, medical history, diagnostic findings, cancer information and cancer therapy and lifetime follow-up.

The Norman Regional Health System has added more than 8,800 patients to our cancer registry since January 1, 1997 with more than 700 cases added annually.

  • The cancer registry data is used to:
  • Evaluate patient outcome, quality of life, patient satisfaction issues and implement quality improvements for cancer patients.
  • Provide follow-up information for cancer surveillance
  • Provide information for cancer program activities
  • Analyze referral patterns
  • Develop education programs
  • Evaluate efficacy of treatment modes
  • All cancer cases are reported, by law, to the Oklahoma Central Cancer Registry and the National Cancer Database. Patient confidentiality is strictly maintained.
