An ACLS Provider manual and the Pre-Course Self Assessment is your "Entrance Ticket" into class.
The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of the hospital. The goal of the ACLS Provider Course is to improve the quality of care provided to the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergency.
In this course your students will enhance their skills in the treatment of arrest and peri-arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiac and respiratory cases. These simulations are designed to reinforce important concepts, including
Pre-course letters will be sent to each course participant 3-4 weeks in advance in order to prepare for the course.
What This Course Does Not Cover:
The ACLS Provider Course DOES NOT TEACH
If you do not review CPR, and if you do not understand the ECG and pharmacology information in the self-assessment CD-based test, it is unlikely that you can successfully complete the ACLS Provider Course.
You will NOT be taught how to read or interpret ECG rhythm strips in the course, nor will you be taught details about ACLS pharmacology. You must know this in advance.

NRHS staff pay for the ACLS Provider manual and the Pre-Course Self Assessment only. Cost of the manual is $35 and may be purchased in the Education Center office. It is strongly recommended that the participant take the Basic Arrhythmia and 12-Lead Interpretation class prior to attending the ACLS Course.

CEUs: This program is approved for 4.5 contact hours of continuing education credit by Norman Regional Hospital.
