- Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for early-stage and oligometastatic patients
- Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for treatment of brain tumors
- Benign and malignant brain tumors
- Head and neck cancer
- Skin cancer
- Lung cancer
- Esophageal cancer
- Sarcoma
Dr. Confer said that even before starting medical school, he knew he wanted to be part of a cancer-fighting team to help patients through one of the most challenging times of their lives.
“I chose radiation oncology because I love personalizing each patient's treatment plan based on diagnosis, staging, and anatomy,” Dr. Confer said.
He said his patients can expect a listening ear and complete explanations.
“I have seen that well-informed patients are better able to overcome great challenges,” Dr. Confer said. “I also think laughter is still great medicine, so I try to incorporate smiles and humor as much as I can.”
Dr. Confer loves to cook, grill and bake. On the weekends he enjoys family bike rides and being outdoors. He speaks Mandarin Chinese, which he learned as a missionary. Dr. Confer’s favorite treat is ice cream and he especially likes the last bit of melted ice cream at the bottom of the bowl!
