Starla Givens, APRN, is a nurse practitioner working with Dr. Jessica Hinojosa. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Norman, Oklahoma, and her Masters of Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. Starla said she became a nurse because she had a desire to help those in need, especially women. She chose to become a women’s health nurse practitioner after 22 years of serving as a labor nurse because she wanted to be able to establish long-term relationships with her patients and impact their lives from adolescence and beyond.

Aside from medicine, Starla enjoys spending time with family and their three dogs, being outdoors, going to the lake, and reading.
Starla added that her family and friends refer to her as the baby whisperer because she can get babies to fall asleep almost instantly.
