Program Director

Dr. Patrick Cody hails from the great Norman, Oklahoma, where he lived up until going to medical school at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduating, Dr. Cody moved back to the OKC area for residency, and eventually back to Norman Regional Health System. Dr. Cody has a passion for prehospital medicine and Mass Gatherings, which pairs well with his love for research related to EMS. Dr. Cody enjoys giving lectures to law enforcement officers and EMS professionals, and has served as a section editor for Swearingen’s Critical Care Transport Text. When Dr. Cody isn’t educating future physicians, he enjoys time with his family and playing saxophone.

Dr. Michael Porter is a home-town physician, calling Norman, Oklahoma his home, and continuing his medical school education through the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Porter has received the Norman Regional Physician Peer Award and has been Core Faculty since the start of the residency program. Dr. Porter has authored published literature called “What is Known About Situational Awareness in ParaMedicine?”, and “Towards a Theoretical Framework for Situational Awareness in ParaMedicine.” In addition to medical authorship, Dr. Porter enjoys EMS and Ultrasound medicine. If Dr. Porter isn’t saving lives, he is spending his time outdoors.

Shelly Zimmerman, DO FACOEP FACEP

Dr. Shelly Zimmerman graduated from the Oklahoma State College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She completed her Emergency Medicine Residency at Hillcrest Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is a Fellow of both ACOEP and ACEP. She worked at Integris Southwest Medical Center for 17 years where she served as core faculty member, Medical Student Clerkship Director and Residency Director. She is currently working in the Norman Regional Health System where she is excited to be involved in the new Emergency Medicine Residency. She is a member of the ACOEP Research Committee and has completed the ACEP Teaching Fellowship. She serves on the board for the Foundation for Osteopathic Emergency Medicine. Shelly serves as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty at OSU-COM and she is actively involved in the mentor program at the school. Family and travel highlight her free time.

Dr. Robin Mantooth calls Purcell, Oklahoma her home. She attended Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan before coming to Norman as a physician. Dr. Mantooth has receive the honors of Clinical Faculty of the Year, Hal Belknap Award, and Norman Regional Physician Peer Award. Dr. Mantooth has special interest in tropical and travel medicine, toxicology, and ultrasound medicine. Dr. Mantooth’s personal interests include making soap and lotion, jewelry, fiber work, and photography.
