Brian E. Clowers, MD, specializes in orthopedic surgery. His sub-specialty is orthopedic disorders of the foot and ankle.

“I knew early on in my medical education that I wanted to be a surgeon,” said Dr. Clowers. “I thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on nature of the surgical fields as well as the technical challenge of surgical arts. I was particularly drawn to orthopedic surgery because of the spatial reasoning it demands and the ability to have tangible impacts on the function of patients.”

He has a particular interest in arthroscopy of the ankle, management of athletic conditions of the foot and ankle and management of arthritis of the foot and ankle.

“I really enjoy the dexterity challenge that arthroscopic surgery provides, and it is exciting to effect so much change through such a minimally invasive approach. I also enjoy the geospatial aspects of reconstructing arthritic joints and the challenge of restoring anatomic relationships.”

Patients can expect maximum effort and consistent empathy from Dr. Clowers.

“I will always be upfront and professional and will be a partner with the patient in making collaborative decisions on how best to treat their condition.”

Dr. Clowers, who also has a bachelor’s degree in music, was awarded the Mask of the White Buffalo award by the University of Oklahoma School of Dance for service to the School of Dance.

Dr. Clowers is married to his best friend, Leslie. They have twin girls and a son. In his spare time, Dr. Clowers loves to travel, play golf and listen to music. He is also an avid fan of OU athletics.
