On Wednesday, April 16, 2014 a box of patient medical records being returned to a physician’s office after being digitally stored by a Norman Regional vendor, was caught in a wind gust. The vendor quickly canvassed a multi-block area around the physician's office, then continued additional sweeps over a two-day period and was able to retrieve a majority of the documents. Most of the documents that were not retrieved belonged to two patients. The families of these two patients have been notified.
The transporting of patient documents has been thoroughly reviewed with the vendor and steps have been put in place to secure such items regardless of weather conditions.
