In keeping with the tradition of excellence and outstanding quality, Norman Regional Health System is proud to announce that at the annual meeting of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs, the Distinguished CPA Award was presented to Marilyn M. Geiger, CPA, Executive Director of Norman Regional Health Foundation. Marilyn was nominated for the award by the Norman Chapter of the OSCPA, in recognition of outstanding Community involvement, Professionalism and Activism in the accounting profession. A total of five CPAs in Oklahoma were recognized for 2007, of the more than 6,000 members of the society. Marilyn is currently serving as a member of the OSCPA Board of Directors.
Marilyn has served as the Executive Director of the Norman Regional Health Foundation from 2003. She is a Certified Public Accountant and prior to joining the hospital staff she practiced public accounting with Murrell, Hall, McIntosh & Co., specializing in income and estate planning. Her professional affiliations include the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, the Oklahoma City Estate Planning Council, American Institute of CPA’s, Oklahoma Society of CPA’s and Norman Chapter of CPA’s. Marilyn is on the board of the Norman Chamber of Commerce and is a past board member of the Moore Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Leadership Norman and is a charter member and past president of Cross Timbers Rotary Club. Marilyn also serves Rotary at the district level as Treasurer and as a member of the Rotary Bi-District Foundation Banquet Committee.
The Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) is the only statewide professional organization for Oklahoma CPAs. Formed in 1918 with a charter membership of 31, they unite over 6,000 CPAs in public practice, private industry, government and education.
