The image of older adults has changed drastically in recent years. Life expectancy is on the increase and we’re seeing examples of older adults in active new roles. As a result, we often see seniors who have learned, later in life, to be more active and involved with their family and community. As more people live longer, we are realizing that the years over age 55 can truly be the “best years!" At Norman Regional we know it is never too late to start on the road to good health!
The Senior Vitality Program at Norman Regional Hospital is interested in promoting healthy lifestyles for adults over age 55. We encourage older adults to be well-informed about issues that impact their physical, mental and social health. This is accomplished with education, screenings and special events scheduled throughout the year. Topics are selected based on the needs and interests of older adult members. At Norman Regional, we know that healthy aging is a vital part of a healthy community.
Senior Vitality programs offer educational opportunities targeted to the senior community. We believe that prevention and medical self-care are at the core of successful aging.
