💙March 27 is Amniotic Fluid Embolism (AFE) Awareness Day💙 Our Drs. Vedala had the privilege to sit down with two special guests for an episode of Vital Visions to put a spotlight on AFE. Lea Ann's daughter, Jacie experienced an AFE during labor and Lacey was Jacie's nurse. Lea Ann and Lacey join the podcast to talk about their experience with AFE and what they do with the AFE Foundation to honor Jacie's life. This unexpected life-threatening labor complication can affect both mother and baby, and Labor and Delivery units should be educated on and prepared for this rare complication if it were ever to present during labor. This #WomensHistoryMonth, we are starting our own conversation about this little-known condition. 🎧Listen to this special episode at the link in our bio by selecting the "Vital Visions: The Vedala Brothers Podcast" tab. 🔷Follow the AFE Foundation: @afefoundation 🔷To learn more about #AFE and what you can do to help #EndAFE or for support resources, go to afesupport.org.

With just one conversation with Sherri Warner, RN, you'll know how much she cares for her patients!🫶🏻 ✨ Nurse Sherri started working as a case manager in our Progressive Cardiac Care Unit at Norman Regional HealthPlex in January . She made the decision to return "home" after years of other nursing experiences because Norman Regional gave her a start in healthcare upon graduating nursing school in 1996. "I've always felt like as a nurse, I've been a teacher," said Sherri. "I had some really good teachers here back then, but the culture is even better now." Before returning to Norman Regional, Sherri worked in many different roles, including case management for first time moms and in hospice for 17 years. As a Norman Regional case manager, Sherri's mission is clear: to ensure every patient has the resources they need for a healthy recovery. From coordinating medical devices to arranging future care, Sherri works tirelessly to support patients and their families every step of the way. Collaborating closely with a social worker, she addresses every aspect of a patient's needs with empathy and expertise. 🙌 Sherri, you are compassionate and kind to all of those around you and in your care! We are lucky to have you back home!
