Dr Mehran Shahsavari has been our main healthcare provider in the hospital & as our primary physician for many years. Sadly, we are moving to Florida & leaving the BEST physician we have ever had. His professionalism, knowledge, quick/take care actions, kindness, eye to detail, efficient skills, & most important, his competition to excellence within himself makes him incomparable to any other physician we have ever known. He set very high standards for himself & expects his team to high standards as well. As a patient, we trust completely his care & know we could not be in better hands! Thank you for having Dr. Shahsavari on staff, thus making your hospital & patients in the best hands anyone could possibly have. We are certain he will be irreplaceable for us.

Short and sweet visit! by Ken Miner*

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

I had a most excellent experience recovering from my surgery thanks to the most professional nursing staff. All services from admitting to releasing were outstanding. Kudos to nurses Julie and Mary Beth to ensuring my visit was short and sweet! Also thanks to Respiration Therapist Robby for fitting my CPAP mask. I don’t have their last names but try to track down their supervisors and tell them they are professionals with lots of smiles! Of my five hospital visits in my life Norman Regional HealthPlex has been the best. Keep it up!

Excellent Care by Patient Family*

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

I brought my husband to Healthplex Emergency Room Thursday November 17. He passed out in front of the front desk. The registrar clerk quickly called the nurses and they came and got him and started working on him. He was later transported via Emstat to ICU at Porter Campus. He was transferred to 3 NE Friday afternoon. The care he got at the healthplex, Emstat Staff and Porter was EXCELLENT!!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK CARE OF MY HUSBAND!!!

Exceptional Care by The Rohr Family*

Sunday, October 23, 2016

I'm a 'letter writer' – it's what I do when I have exceptional service experiences – both good and bad. My little contribution to making the world a better place, I suppose.

Today I writing you to tell you how exceptionally wonderful a few of your staff at the Norman Regional Healthplex Labor and Delivery. My wife and I welcomed our twin girls into the world on October 19th, with that our family and my life has forever changed. Our delivery came about rather unplanned and unexpectedly, and your entire staff set everyone in my family at ease. It was so nice to be greeted by a cheerful staff in the Labor unit, those wonderful ladies really set this extremely nervous dad at ease, and took unbelievable care of my wife. As she struggled with anxiety regarding her cesarean, your nurses constant assuring and calming words, seemed to calm the two of us. I could not have asked for anyone more compassionate than Chasiti (sp), she was brilliant. We continued to get lucky when we drew your wonderful nursery and postpartum staff. All I had ever heard was horror stories of how many nurses have little patience answering questions, and dealing with fatigued and cranky families. I was extremely relieved to find this to be untrue. Your staff spent every minute, and more answering the questions that my wife and I had. They went above and beyond to assure my wife was feeding right, they took extra time to assist her in every way. The genuine nurturing love they showed my wife and daughters in their time of need, allows me to rest comfortably. Knowing that my life was being cared for in a way I would never imagine. The fact that my little angels were cared for by your compassionate and wonderful angels brings me to tears as I write you this. I cannot begin to thank you and your staff for your exceptional care, dedication, and love you pass onto each of your patients every day. I will always be indebted to your service you bestowed on my girls. A few staff stand out as tops in their field and I'd like to call your attention to them in hopes that you’ll find a way to let them know they do good work.

Labor and Delivery: Chasiti was very reassuring to us regarding the unknown, as we were both extremely nervous about the C-section.

Postpartum Care: Juliet, welcomed us and from what little time we had before the shift change she was amazing.

Rachel, I cannot say enough about this amazing Nurse, the very first night as my was wife still recovering she cared for my wife and my girls with the level of care you could write a lifetime movie about. We were lucky to have had Rachel for two nights, and both of them she allowed our family time to bond and get much-needed rest.

Brooke and Nikole were tag team champions of the day shift. We had these two saints for Nurses twice as well. On both occasions, they took special care of my wife as they tended to her surgical aftercare, and her pain. They took the time to explain to us what tests were taking place with our little girls.

Darla the Nurses Assistant, as a mother of twins herself she answered each and every question that came up during our stay. She was unbelievable, she cared for my wife as if she were her sister. In a way, they are now, it brought us to tears to say goodbye to her yesterday because of the love she showed us.

Nursery Care: Patti - Victoria's Nursery Nurse Cindy - Charlotte's Nursery Nurse Both of these ladies were present in the OR and took exception care of my little ones from the start.

All in all, as a Norman resident, I'd like to tell you that we are lucky to have Norman Regional Healthcare, and its fine staff of caregivers in our community. Brilliant hiring and management and concepts such as the 4P's usually come from the top and today I wanted you to know they impressed all the way down to the customer.

Thank you

RNs during my stay at NRHS by Kerry Shumway*

Tuesday, September 6, 2016

I was in your hospital overnight on 8/30/16 and 8/31/16. I wanted to let the management know that my two RNs (one for day and one for night) were exceptional. They were obviously very dedicated to their jobs and this was by far the best experience I've ever had in a hospital, and it was primarily their care that made it that way. My day nurse was Rocio and my night nurse was Jaleisa (sp?). Thanks!!

Saved my life! by Terrie Bell*

Tuesday, September 6, 2016

I've gone to NRH for over 16 yrs. for everything from stitches in the e.r. to a LIFE SAVING CT BIOPSY for lung cancer that they did for no charge to me! I had decent health insurance in the past but after several major surgeries I was forced to go on disability & medicare. After finding a suspicious spot on a routine chest xray, done & read by NRH Dr.s, I needed a very expensive CT Biopsy & called to see how much out of pocket I was looking at & was about to put it off when the incredible staff told me about NRH's special program that if you were disabled & had insurance there would be no cost to you! Seriously! They found cancer, I had 1/2 my lung removed & DONE! Because of NRH finding the cancer so early, I needed no further treatment! I go every 6 months for follow up & it's been 3 years clear now. Now I've had mamograms, ultrasounds, ct scans, labs, knee replacement, cervical fusion & more over the years, all at NRH so I trust them with my life, and that of my family but this? Doing this testing for me, without making me feel like I was taking charity, which I was, SAVED MY LIFE! I've, through no choice, had to have surgeries, including my lobectomy for lung cancer at other hospitals & at 59 yrs. old, can say they don't compare to NRH! The staff, all of them, have always been so professional, respectful and compassionate no matter which department or position, you can tell they LIKE working there. I will never be able to say enough about how great this hospital is, my only regret is my taking so long to post this! SORRY! I LOVE ALL OF YOU AT NRH (especially Linda Robinson) Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Terrie Bell
