About Shella M. Gettings, APRN

Shella M. Gettings, APRN, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Norman Regional’s Primary Care - Doctors Park, bringing over two decades of compassionate care to her patients.

Shella began her healthcare journey as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2001. Her outgoing personality and deep care for her patients shone through early in her career. "I chose to become a nurse practitioner after many years of providing hospital care to patients during some of the most difficult times of their lives," said Shella. "Being the person someone looks to when they are fearful and at their most vulnerable is a responsibility that I take very seriously and am honored to provide. Everyone needs someone they can depend on when they aren't sure what lies ahead with their health." Inspired by this commitment, she furthered her education, becoming a Registered Nurse in 2010.

In 2019, Shella received her Master's of Science in Nursing at South University in Savannah, GA. Her exemplary care has been recognized with several accolades, including the 2014 Nurse Exemplar and Nurse of the Year award from Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, and a 2021 nomination as Adjunct of the Year from Oklahoma City University’s Kramer School of Nursing.

Shella is committed to holistic patient care, taking the time to listen and address not just the illness but the whole person. "I understand the struggles of dealing with issues like obesity and depression," she says. "We will work together, and I will support you through every step."
