Norman Regional Health System has been recognized for achieving clinical excellence from the VHA Oklahoma/Arkansas regional office, one of 17 regions for VHA Inc., the national health care network.
Norman Regional was awarded for:
Norman Regional was awarded the Superior Clinical Performance Award. Only one organization received this award from a group of 31. Recognition in this category was reserved for organizations in which the average of the aggregate scores for all four reported measurement sets was 95 percent or greater for all four quarters, beginning with the 4th Quarter of 2007 and ending with the 3rd Quarter of 2008.
“Being awarded the Superior Clinical Performance Award, especially when surrounded by other very accomplished hospitals is a wonderful achievement. This speaks to the dedication of our staff to quality care and patient safety,” said Norman Regional President and CEO David Whitaker.
Norman Regional was also honored with awards for:
“VHA works with dozens of hospitals across Oklahoma and Arkansas, and our mission is to help them become better performers,” said Bruce A. Naylor, M.D., vice president of clinical improvement and medical director for the VHA Oklahoma/Arkansas region. “By recognizing these selected hospitals with clinical quality awards, we hope to demonstrate that hospitals can overcome the financial obstacles that often stand in the way to achieving clinical excellence.”
