About Joan B. Capellan, MD

Joan Beatrice Capellan, MD, practices at Internal Medicine - Doctors Park. She strives to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that puts each patient’s goals and well-being first.

Dr. Capellan was drawn to medicine by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. She earned her medical degree from Far Eastern University - Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in the Philippines and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Texas. She speaks English and Tagalog.

“I chose Internal Medicine because I enjoy the variety and complexity of caring for adults, and I value the relationships that develop over time,” said Dr. Capellan. “I love helping patients understand their health, navigate difficult medical decisions and celebrate improvements together.”

Patients can expect a care plan built on trust, respect and open communication. Dr. Capellan takes the time to listen to her patients and explain medical decisions clearly, helping them feel informed and involved in their care.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Capellan enjoys reading, traveling and playing the guitar.
