Aaron L. Boyd, MD, MBA, FACHE, is the Vice President and Chief Physician Executive (CPE) for Norman Regional Health System (NRHS).

Dr. Boyd joined the Norman Regional staff in 2000 as an independent practicing Pulmonologist and Intensivist. He served as Chief of Staff for four years and has served as NRHS’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the past 11 years.

In his role as Chief Physician Executive, he leads the health system's 34 provider clinics as well as the clinical enterprise of more than 500 employed and affiliated providers. In maintaining a presence in clinical medicine, Dr. Boyd will remain well-positioned to create, understand and strengthen the best environment for physicians and providers.

Dr. Boyd played a critical role in NRHS’s emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only was he providing critical care to patients in the ICU, but he also helped resolve important and unpredictable problems while communicating key decisions across the health system and medical community – including routine/elective care, testing, provider repurposing, expertise to government agencies and seeking provider input and direction about the novel virus and mitigation methods.

Dr. Boyd’s 25 years of patient care, his post-graduate education and healthcare leadership experience uniquely equip him to carry out strategic, tactical, financial, and management issues that NRHS providers face in today’s ever-evolving healthcare environment.

He enjoys traveling with his wife and time together with his family. He is a big fan of days at the beach, attending major league baseball games, and Oklahoma Sooner football.
