Environmental Services Tech Honored as Employee of the Year

Each year Norman Regional honors one of our own as the Employee of the Year. This employee is selected from the 12 Employees of the Month honorees as one who lives out The Norman Way and embodies our values of Integrity, Communication, Attitude, Results and Engagement.

The 2026 Employee of the Year is Monica Cheatwood, Environmental Services Technician!

Since joining Norman Regional in April 2019, Monica has been a dedicated and steady presence in the Environmental Services department.

Before coming to Norman Regional, Monica spent most of her adult life as a homemaker while also running a residential housekeeping business for 30 years. Her work went far beyond basic cleaning—she took on the jobs “nobody wanted to do,” from garages and basements to attics, swimming pools, and outdoor grills. That same willingness to step up and tackle tough tasks carries over into her work today.

Originally from New York, Monica has lived in the area for roughly 20 years. Outside of work, she enjoys drumming, writing poetry, cooking, reading, taking long walks in nature, and community volunteering.

When asked what she likes best about working at Norman Regional, Monica said “The people and the values that Norman Regional represents.”
