Norman Regional Health System has been named a Telligen QI Connect™ Community Quality Champion.

Telligen QI Connect is a quality improvement organization for Oklahoma, Colorado, Illinois and Iowa. The Quality Champion designation signifies Norman Regional’s efforts to address high-priority health issues during the COVID-19 pandemic, including opioid misuse, increasing access to behavioral health services, and ensuring smooth patient transitions with changes in the level of care, patient safety, chronic disease prevention and self-care. The award also demonstrates Norman Regional’s continued commitment to the overall health of its communities.

“We congratulate Norman Regional and the Telligen QI Connect Central Oklahoma community for being a recipient of the first Community Quality Champion Award! Your commitment to your organization, staff, patients, and community is unmatched. We are thrilled to bestow this honor and recognition to you,” wrote Belinda Rogers, CRPF, CTCF, CD, senior quality improvement facilitator with Telligen, in an email notifying Norman Regional of this honor.

Norman Regional’s mission is to serve its community as the leader in health and wellness care, and this award is another example of the health system sticking to that mission.

”The COVID-19 pandemic has brought even more attention to these health issues that have always been a high priority for Norman Regional. By addressing these issues, Norman Regional and its healers can focus on not only the health of our communities but their wellness too,” said Meegan Carter, Norman Regional’s Vice President of Population Health and Wellness. “Every day our Care Coordination team strives to live by Norman Regional’s mission and provide services that don’t only address immediate health issues, but underlying co-morbidities like diabetes and behavioral health that impact health and wellness. In addition, Care Coordination’s assessment of social determinants, such as access to care and food insecurity, also impacts community well-being. The Quality Champion Award honors the health system as a whole, but especially the Care Coordination team for their consistent dedication to the communities we serve. I’m proud of their efforts and this recognition.”
