We ask our college volunteers to commit to two semesters of volunteering with the Auxiliary.
A few of the volunteer areas include:
Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) – Volunteers assist with various duties such cleaning beds, escorting families, and making charts.
Imaging Services – Volunteers assist technicians with preparation for their next patient and with film retrieval.
Emergency Department – Volunteers perform various duties such as cleaning beds and escorting families. They also assist staff members as needed.

Flu shots administered during flu season

Upon completion of an application, potential volunteers will be required to complete the following:
Orientation – Each prospective volunteer is required to attend a three-hour orientation session. These sessions are held throughout the year at Norman Regional.
Tuberculin or TB Skin Test – A mandatory TB test must be completed prior to orientation at the volunteer’s expense. A second TB test is provided by the hospital during orientation.
Immunization Screening – Proof of vaccination for rubella and mumps are a requirement.
Background Check – A background check will be done on all volunteers prior to receiving volunteer placement.
Dues – The Norman Regional Auxiliary asks its volunteers for a yearly membership of $5.
Uniforms – Uniforms are mandatory for all volunteers. They include a blue uniform top, white slacks, and white soft-soled shoes. The cost of the uniform top is $25.
