Director of Pharmacy Services

Dr. Foster received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of the Pacific in 1997 after completing a Bachelors of Science degree in 1994 from the Masters College in southern California. He then went on to complete a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) at Emory University in 1998. Following his training at CHOA he practiced in the area of pediatric critical care before taking the position of General Pediatric Lead Pharmacist. Later he accepted he accepted the Cardiac Critical Care Clinical Specialist position in which he practiced for approximately 6 years. In 2003, he accepted a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist position at Norman Regional Health System. He was later promoted to Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor in 2009, and in 2011 he accepted the position of Clinical Pharmacy Manager. He is a recent graduate from the Pharmacy Leadership Institute at Boston University. In his spare time he enjoys weight lifting, soccer, water sports, reading, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Andrews graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1983. She trained and worked at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City while in school. She has had a variety of pharmacy practice experiences ranging from hospital to retail to home infusion. She began at Norman Regional Health System in the home infusion affiliate Optioncare in 1998. Soon after Dr. Andrews moved to the main Pharmacy at the NRHS Porter campus. She has been with NRHS for 19 years. She worked in the IT department for 2 of those years and then returned to the pharmacy. For the last 13 years she has served as Pharmacy Manager. Her area of expertise at this time includes pharmacy IT. She loves to arrange fresh flowers, watch old movies, and read.

Dr. Stemm received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma College Of Pharmacy in 2011. She went on to complete a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Norman Regional Health System (NRHS) in 2011-2012. After that, she was the Director of Pharmacy at Midwest City Specialty Hospital for 2 ½ years, while remaining at NRHS as a PRN pharmacist. She has now returned to NRHS in a full-time capacity, and accepted a position as Pharmacy Manager in 2016. Her practice interests include adult medicine and infectious disease. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, reading, and exercising.

Dr. Poland received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 and completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Norman Regional Health System in 2006. She has been employed at NRHS since 1992 beginning as the Infection Control Specialist then assuming the role of Manage, Performance Improvement before embarking on her pharmacy career. She has been a clinical specialist since 2006 and in 2016 transitioned into the role of Residency Program Coordinator. Dr. Poland is active with the Oklahoma Society of Health-System Pharmacists and is currently serving as Past-President. Other positions held include Program Committee Chair, Western District Chair, President-elect and President. Her practice interests are adult medicine, emergency medicine and transitions of care and she is a core member of the Stroke Committee. Her hobbies include cycling, cooking for her husband and friends, traveling and serving the needs of two delightful dogs, Pete and Max.

Dr. Hughes received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 2003 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma in 1997. He then went on to complete a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Norman Regional Hospital in 2004 followed by a Pediatric Specialty Residency at Denver Children’s Hospital in 2005. Upon completion of training, he served as Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy, with a practice site at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He joined the staff of Norman Regional Health System as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in 2008, and became the Residency Program Director later that year. In 2016, he began transitioning into the role of Clinical Programs Coordinator. Aside from pediatrics, his practice interests include infectious diseases and pharmacy education. In his down time, he enjoys music, sports, movies, reading, and spending time with family.

Dr. Holmes received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2007. During college she worked as a pharmacy technician and pharmacy intern at a community pharmacy. She has been employed with NRHS since graduation and was recently selected to be the Distribution Coordinator for the pharmacy. Within this role her primary areas of focus are hazardous drug training/education and narcotic surveillance. She serves as the primary preceptor for the Medication Preparation and Distribution longitudinal rotation. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading and hanging out with family.

Dr. Booth earned his B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Oklahoma State University in 2009 and his Pharm.D. from Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy in 2013. He went on to complete a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Norman Regional Health System (NRHS) in 2014. He has been a pharmacist at NRHS since 2014. His current areas of interest include critical care and infectious diseases. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, movies and music.

Dr. Chonlahan graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 2002. She completed a Specialty Residency in Ambulatory Care at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. She joined Norman Regional Hospital System in 2010. Cardiology is one of her current practice interests. In her free moments, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Cody received her Bachelors of Science in Zoology in 2002 from Oklahoma State University and her Pharm.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 2008. She then went on to complete a PGY-1 Pharmacy residency at Norman Regional Health System in 2009. She started at NRHS in March 2009 as a dispensing pharmacist and has evolved into a clinical/dispensing pharmacist as of March 2012. Her current practice interests include adult medicine and oncology. She is currently working on procedures with National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health drugs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, running, and going to concerts.

Fran Esfahani, PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Esfahani earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma College of Engineering. She went on to earn her B.S. in Pharmacy and her Pharm.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. She joined the Norman Regional Health System in 1995. She became a Clinical Pharmacist in 1997. She went on to become a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist 2002. Her practice areas of interest includes critical care and infectious diseases. She currently has ongoing projects which include generating a carbepenem utilization restrictions and working with the infectious disease physicians to revise Norman Regional’s sepsis/pneumonia/COPD and other order sets. Her hobbies include weight training and exercising, ballroom dancing, oil painting, traveling, and gardening.

Dr. Mayer earned her A.A. in Biology from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in 1997, her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Oklahoma State University in 2000, and her Pharm.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 2008. She went on to complete a PGY-1 Pharmacy residency at Norman Regional Health System (NRHS) in 2009. She joined NRHS in July 2009 as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. Dr. Mayer is active with the Oklahoma Society of Health-System Pharmacists (OSHP), serving on the Programing Committee as the Vendor Showcase Chair and Co-Chair from 2011-13 and as state delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates. She is also active with the Cleveland County Pharmacists Association, serving as Vice President from 2012-13. She helped develop and implement a standard protocol for medication dose adjustment in hospitalized patients with renal insufficiency. Her current practice interests include cardiology and critical care. Her hobbies include cheering on the Oklahoma City Thunder, watching movies, wine tasting, and trying out new restaurants.

Dr. Nelson earned her B.S. Pharm from Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University in 1975. She went on to earn her PharmD from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 2002. She began her career as a dispensing pharmacist at Norman Regional Health System in March 1976. She became a clinical pharmacist in 2003. Her practice interests include adult medicine with particular interests in diabetes and patient education. Her hobbies include reading and learning Spanish.

Dr. Whitley earned a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Oklahoma State University in 2009, and earned her Pharm.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 2013. She went on to complete a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Norman Regional Health System in 2014. She has been a pharmacist at NRHS since 2013 and currently practices in a decentralized pharmacy on the neurosurgery and bariatric care unit. Dr. Whitley is active with the Oklahoma Society of Health-System Pharmacists (OSHP), serving on the Programing Committee as the Vendor Showcase Chair since 2015. Her current areas of interest include infectious diseases, internal medicine, and oncology. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, trying new restaurants with her husband, traveling, watching sports, and playing tug-o-war with her dog, Chipper.
