Certified Nurses Day is celebrated every year on March 19th, to honor and recognize the hard work and dedication of certified nurses. At Norman Regional, the day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride, as it provides an opportunity to acknowledge the important role played by certified nurses in the delivery of quality patient care.
Certified nurses are those who have obtained certification in their respective specialty areas through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or other certifying organizations. Certification is a voluntary process that demonstrates a nurse's commitment to professional growth and development, and it requires passing a rigorous exam that evaluates knowledge, skills, and abilities in a particular specialty.
Norman Regional is proud to have a large number of certified nurses across a wide range of specialties, including critical care, emergency care, labor and delivery, oncology, pediatrics, and many more. These nurses have demonstrated a high level of expertise and commitment to their patients, and their certification serves as a mark of excellence in their profession.
Norman Regional also offers educational sessions and workshops to certified nurses, designed to help them stay up-to-date with the latest developments in their specialty areas. These sessions cover a wide range of topics, including new treatment modalities, emerging technologies, and best practices in patient care.
Another important aspect of Certified Nurses Day is community outreach. Certified nurses participate in a variety of outreach activities, including health fairs, community education events, and support groups for patients and families. Most recently, Norman Regional in partnership with Norman Public Schools and the Norman Regional Health Foundation hosted free CPR classes for the community. The classes aim to support the American Heart Association's mission of increasing survival from cardiac arrest. Several certified nurses volunteered their time to help during the event.
These activities provide an opportunity for certified nurses to share their expertise and knowledge with the wider community, and to promote the importance of nursing certification.
Certified Nurses Day is an important day for Norman Regional, as it provides an opportunity to celebrate and honor the hard work and dedication of certified nurses. These nurses are an integral part of the Health System’s success, and their commitment to excellence in patient care is a testament to the high standards of nursing practice at Norman Regional.
As a Health System, Norman Regional is proud to have a large number of certified nurses on staff, and is committed to supporting their ongoing professional development and growth.
