Get With the Guidelines Awards - Norman Regional Health System has received four 2024 Get With The Guidelines® awards for demonstrating our commitment to research-based guidelines for the treatment of heart disease and stroke, ultimately leading to more lives saved, shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions to the hospital.
Mission Lifeline Award - Norman Regional was presented with the American Heart Association’s 2024 - Mission Lifeline EMS Gold achievement award for our commitment to offering rapid and research-based care to people experiencing the most severe form of heart attacks and strokes, ultimately saving lives.
Outstanding Clinical Affiliate - Norman Regional’s entire Sonography Team was honored with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Sonography Outstanding Clinical Affiliate for 2024!
American College of Cardiology Award - in 2024, Norman Regional received American College of Cardiology’s NCDR ACTION Registry Silver Performance Achievement Award for the health system’s commitment and success in implementing a high standard of care for heart attack patients. There are only 95 hospitals nationwide to receive the award. ®
Get With the Guidelines Awards - Norman Regional received a total of four American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline® and Get With The Guidelines® achievement awards in 2024 for demonstrating a commitment to following up-to-date, research-based guidelines for the treatment of heart disease and stroke, ultimately leading to more lives saved, shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions to the hospital.
Perinatal Care Certification - In 2023, Norman Regional Health System became the first program in the state of Oklahoma to be certified in Perinatal Care by The Joint Commission.
Get With the Guidelines Award – Norman Regional was recognized with American Heart Association and America Stroke Association’s 2022 Get With the Guidelines® – Stroke GOLD PLUS with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll in 2022.
American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry – Norman Regional Hospital received the 2022 ACC NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Gold Performance Achievement Award for its care of heart attack patients. At the time, it was one of only 81 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.
Inpatient Rehabilitation Center of Excellence – Norman Regional was awarded Center of Excellence designation in Rehabilitation Services from the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality in 2022.
WorkHealthy Hospitals – Norman Regional Hospital was awarded the WorkHealthy Hospitals Excellence Platinum Award from the Oklahoma Hospital Association in 2021.
Mission: Lifeline® Awards – Norman Regional Health System was awarded the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus and Gold Achievement Awards for the quality care given to patients who suffer severe heart attacks in fall 2021.
University of Oklahoma Nuclear Medicine Program – Heart Plaza Imaging was honored as the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center – Nuclear Medicine Program Outstanding Clinical Affiliate for 2021.
American Heart Association Workplace Health Achievement – Norman Regional achieved national silver level recognition in American Heart Association’s Workplace Health Achievement 2021 for taking significant steps to build a culture of health and well-being for their workforce.
Chest Pain Center Accreditation - In 2020, Norman Regional was awarded Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI and Resuscitation by the American College of Cardiology based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
Large Business of the Year - Norman Regional Health System was named the large business of the year by the Norman Chamber of Commerce in 2020.
WorkHealthy – TSET and the Oklahoma Hospital Association recognized Norman Regional as a Certified Healthy Business at the Excellence level in 2019. Featured hospitals’ efforts encompass the spirit of employee wellbeing and stand out from the crowd.
Behavioral Health Quality Improvement Awards - Eleven of Norman Regional’s Primary Care clinics received Behavioral Health Quality Improvement Awards for depression and alcohol use screenings in the Medicare population for 2017. The clinics demonstrated outstanding performance in the percentage of Medicare patients who have been screened for depression and/or alcohol use during a 12-month period, beginning the first quarter of 2017 to the fourth quarter of 2017. Norman Regional Wins Gold in Healthcare Marketing IMPACT Awards - Norman Regional Health System took home the Gold at the 2014 Healthcare Marketing IMPACT Awards! The Health System won the first prize in the category of Community Outreach Campaign of the Year for its campaign that tells the story, through print and video, of a community's healing and rebuilding, reminding residents that "Moore is ready to treat you again." The IMPACT Awards were created by Modern Healthcare and Ad Age to recognize healthcare’s best advertising, marketing, promotion, and communication campaigns on and across all media platforms.
Chest Pain Center Accreditation - Norman Regional Hospital's Chest Pain Center received accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.
U.S. News and World Report Best Hospitals – U.S. News and World Report recognized Norman Regional for its Cardiovascular and Inpatient Rehabilitation Centers of Excellence, with Rehab ranking top three in Oklahoma, in its “Best Hospitals” issue.
National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification – Norman Regional was awarded Gold Safe Sleep Certification by Cribs for Kids’ National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program through 2027.

Certified Healthy Business Award - Norman Regional Health System received the Certified Healthy Business Award at the excellence level from Certified Healthy Oklahoma in 2024.
Mission: Lifeline Awards - Norman Regional Health System received the Mission: Lifeline® Silver Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award and the Mission: Lifeline® NSTEMI Silver Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer heart attacks.

Sustained Improvement Award - Norman Regional was awarded the sustained improvement award for Achievement in Eliminating Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia and Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections by the US Department of Health and Human Services and the Critical Care Societies Collaborative. The Critical Care Societies Collaborative includes the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Certificate of Participation - Norman Regional Hospital was awarded a certificate of participation in the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services Quality Improvement Organization Program: Reducing Rates of Health-care Associated Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) Infections in the Acute Care Setting.
Norman Chamber of Commerce, Greenovation Award - Norman Regional was honored with the Greenovation Award from the Norman Chamber of Commerce. The system won in the category of conservation, large business. This award recognizes local businesses that are doing their part to reduce their impact on the environment and be better stewards of the earth.
NRHS Hyperbaric & Wound Care Center Receives National Award - Norman Regional’s Hyperbaric & Wound Care Center was awarded the Center of Distinction Award. This award is presented to the top ten centers in the country for exceeding benchmarks in quality issues for 12 consecutive months. These quality indicators include percentage of wounds healed, patient satisfaction, median days to heal, management of wounds that cannot heal and access to care.
The Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality, Quality Award - Norman Regional Health System was presented with a Quality Award by the Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality. Norman Regional Hospital was recognized as the most improved hospital for clinical outcomes in the large hospital category.
American Heart Association, Start! Fit-Friendly Company - NRHS was recognized by the American Heart Association as a Start! Fit-Friendly Company. We were recognized for promoting physical activity and health in the workplace.
