About Dylan Shockley, AGACNP-BC

Dylan Shockley is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at GI of Norman. He received his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma.

He specializes in:

  • Acid reflux
  • Barrett’s esophagus
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's, ulcerative colitis)
  • Liver and pancreatic disease
  • Higher education

Dylan has passion for education, a passion that extends to his patients as well as nursing students at Oklahoma City Community College where he is an adjunct professor.

“I am particularly interested in educating individuals because it gives them the opportunity to be empowered. Patients and students are particularly unfamiliar with critical care areas, and I enjoy assisting them with their understanding of medical knowledge. When a patient or person has an understanding of a topic they can make informed choices and manage their conditions appropriately.”

Patients can expect Dylan to be nonjudgmental and focused on having a collaborative relationship with them.

“I want to help patients understand their issues, then work with them to make decisions that will fit their needs and wishes. I want us to work as partners to achieve their health goals.”

My appointment was at 10am and I was told when I got there I would be the first person to go back and get my procedure done. I didn't go back until 13:30 so sat in the bed for 3.5 hours.... Hard to get commitments for rides when I realistically can't provide an accurate commitment they would have to make. What made it worse is I had no check ins informing me what was going on or about the delay.
