What is Cardiac Rehabilitation?
Cardiac Rehabilitation is an outpatient therapy program that develops a personalized treatment plan based on patients’ specific health status and needs. This treatment includes individualized physical activity, nutritional counseling, stress management, and other health-related care. Our goal is focused on helping participants achieve their optimal level of heart health.
Our program is a comprehensive four-phase service focused on helping participants achieve their optimal level of health and wellness after experiencing a cardiac episode:
- Phase I Inpatient phase at Norman Regional Hospital
- Phase II Outpatient phase at Norman Regional Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
- Phase III Maintenance phase at Norman Regional Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
- Phase IV Independent phase at The Health Club
With the professional expertise of our physicians, nurses, exercise specialists, dieticians and pharmacists, program participants will learn how to:

- Develop healthy eating habits
- Exercise within safe limits

How Do I Know if I Qualify for Cardiac Rehab?
Medicare and most private insurers cover cardiac rehab. If you have experienced any of the following events, you qualify:
- Acute myocardial infarction (MI) – within preceding 12 months
- Chronic heart failure (CHF)
- Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)
- Coronary stent placement
- Current stable angina pectoris (chest pain)
- Heart or heart-lung transplant
- Heart valve repair/replacement
- Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTCA)
