About Dylan Shockley, AGACNP-BC

Dylan Shockley is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at GI of Norman. He received his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma.

He specializes in:

  • Acid reflux
  • Barrett’s esophagus
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's, ulcerative colitis)
  • Liver and pancreatic disease
  • Higher education

Dylan has passion for education, a passion that extends to his patients as well as nursing students at Oklahoma City Community College where he is an adjunct professor.

“I am particularly interested in educating individuals because it gives them the opportunity to be empowered. Patients and students are particularly unfamiliar with critical care areas, and I enjoy assisting them with their understanding of medical knowledge. When a patient or person has an understanding of a topic they can make informed choices and manage their conditions appropriately.”

Patients can expect Dylan to be nonjudgmental and focused on having a collaborative relationship with them.

“I want to help patients understand their issues, then work with them to make decisions that will fit their needs and wishes. I want us to work as partners to achieve their health goals.”

I would like more clarity on the medication prescriptions, what they were for, and also on the schedule for follow-up activity procedure. I need some clarity. I guess you could say I need a navigator for the things that information I got from the service the other day. So I need some clarity there. I need somebody to call me and talk to me about it so that I can make sure I do the right thing for my health. on follow up. Thank you.
