About Tom S. Connally, MD,FACS

Dr. Tom Connally is the medical director of the Norman Regional Health System Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery Program and a pioneer in the area of minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgeries.

These minimally invasive surgeries utilize smaller incisions and local anesthesia, which make for faster recovery from surgery. The amount of surgery time is decreased by nearly 30 minutes with the use of new technology, which allows parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels to be measured in the operating room, rather than being sent to a lab for processing elsewhere in the facility.

Norman Regional's Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery Program is only one of the few programs in the nation to use this technology. Our team also utilizes the best imaging services available. Click here for more information regarding Norman Regional’s diagnostic imaging services.

The Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery Program uses a team approach, working closely with endocrinologists, pathologists, radiologists and nuclear medicine staff to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care. Dr. Connally has completed hundreds of cases. Patients from all over the nation have traveled to Norman to be treated by him.

Dr. Connally is also an active member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He was the first surgeon in the state of Oklahoma to become a member of the AAES. For more information about parathyroid and thyroid disease and surgery, please visit www.endocrinediseases.org.

I do not believe anything was done very well with considering the fact that I am facing a surgery that I know nothing about. I am not happy with who called and I'm left in the dark as to what to expect. Except that somebody is supposed to call me just before the surgery. Thank you very much. But I know nothing else.
