Vincent Petros, DO

About Vincent Petros, DO

Vincent Petros is board certified in internal medicine and is a gastroenterologist with Norman Regional’s GI of Norman. Dr. Petros has more than seven years of experience and attended medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed his fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He served as chief resident at University of Texas and co-chief fellow at OU, as well as being selected outstanding overall resident at the University of Texas and outstanding overall Gastroenterology fellow the OU Health Science Center. He said he went into gastroenterology because it gives him the opportunity to save and improve lives, especially with the growing number of colon cancer cases in younger and middle-aged adults.

His special interests include:

  • Upper endoscopy
  • GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease)
  • Peptic ulcer disease
  • Colonoscopy
  • Colon cancer screening and surveillance
  • IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)
  • IBD (inflammatory bowel disease)

In his free time, Dr. Petros enjoys cheering on all the Chicago professional sports teams as well as Michigan State and OU.
