Smaranda Galis, MD, FAAN is the co-medical director of Norman Regional’s Stroke Center. She is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of the American Stroke Association.

Dr. Galis is a graduate of Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine, Cluj, Romania, and a board certified neurologist in Europe, Dr. Galis completed a neurology residency at OU. She was an assistant professor in the OU Neurology Dept. Her family moved to Virginia in 2010 where she served as Stroke program director, has experience with stroke telemedicine in a large urban areas, and was an assistant professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Dr. Galis is LGBTQ+ friendly and passionate about providing high quality, compassionate care to men and women of all ages and gender identities. She is passionate about making sure that patients in this community feel safe when seeing a doctor and she wants the community to know that she is a Neurologist who will provide sage care to them.
