Tom S. Connally, MD
About Tom S. Connally, MD
Dr. Connally is medical director of the Norman Regional Health System Endocrine Surgery Program and a pioneer in the area of minimally-invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgeries.
These minimally-invasive surgeries utilize smaller incisions and local anesthesia which make for faster recovery from surgery. The amount of surgery time is decreased by nearly 30 minutes with the use of new technology allowing parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels measured in the operating room as opposed to being taken to a lab to be processed elsewhere in the facility. Norman Regional's Endocrine Surgery Program is only one of a few programs in the nation to use this technology. Our team also utilizes the best imaging services available. Click here for more information regarding Norman Regional’s diagnostic imaging services.
The Endocrine Surgery Program uses a team approach working closely with endocrinologists, pathologists, radiologist and nuclear medicine staff to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care. Dr. Connally has completed hundreds of cases. Patients from all over the nation have traveled to Norman to be treated by him.
Dr. Connally is also an active member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He was the first surgeon in the state of Oklahoma to become a member of the AAES. For more information about parathyroid and thyroid disease and surgery, please visit www.endocrinediseases.org.
