Norman Regional Health System is proud to announce the re-opening of the Oklahoma Wound Center, bringing specialized wound care services back to patients in Norman and surrounding communities.

The clinic had temporarily closed earlier this year, but after hearing from patients, families, and providers, Norman Regional recognized the critical need for advanced wound care close to home. Now, the Oklahoma Wound Center has re-opened with a renewed focus and a dedicated team led by wound care specialists Ricardo “Rich” Rodriguez, MD, and Lorene “Nikki” Rodriguez, MD.
“We listened to feedback from our community members and the answer was clear—this type of care is essential,” said Nakita Martin, Director of Clinic Operations and Care Coordination at Norman Regional. “Re-opening the Oklahoma Wound Center allows us to once again provide lifesaving, specialized wound care close to home.”
Why Choose the Oklahoma Wound Center?
The Oklahoma Wound Center is the largest and most comprehensive wound care facility in the Oklahoma City metro area, serving patients south of the metro who would otherwise need to travel long distances for treatment.
This state-of-the-art facility features:

- 10 spacious treatment rooms
- Four hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chambers, which will be ready for use in late November - one of the few centers in the region to offer this advanced therapy
- A multidisciplinary team approach that focuses on healing wounds faster and preventing future complications
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a powerful treatment that increases oxygen in the bloodstream, helping wounds heal more quickly and effectively. It is especially helpful for patients with chronic, non-healing wounds such as diabetic ulcers, radiation injuries, and severe infections.
Conditions Treated at the Oklahoma Wound Center
The Oklahoma Wound Center specializes in treating a wide range of wounds, including:
- Diabetic wounds
- Neuropathic wounds
- Pressure ulcers (bedsores)
- Arterial ulcers
- Venous insufficiency ulcers
- Surgical and traumatic wounds
- Burns
- Post-radiation wounds

Patients receive personalized treatment plans that may include circulation screening tests, specialized dressings, compression wraps, negative pressure therapy, total contact casting, and biologic tissue applications. Education is also a key focus—patients and families learn strategies to prevent new wounds from developing. The Oklahoma Wound Center is also staffed by Karen Ritchie, who assists physicians with patient care, coordinates treatment plans, and ensures each patient receives the services and support they need throughout their healing journey.
Convenient Location and Referral Options
The Oklahoma Wound Center is located in the Heart Plaza at:
3500 HealthPlex Parkway, Suite 102
