Our Services

Labor & Delivery

Norman Regional's team of experts is ready to care for you as you welcome your new addition into the world. Our team includes board-certified physicians, registered nurses, lactation consultants and many more.

Babies are delivered at the Norman Regional HealthPlex, located off Interstate 35 on Tecumseh Road. The Women's and Children's area has its own special entrance on the west side of the building.

You can pre-register for your birth here. Make sure to select "Obstetrics Admission" from the drop down menu.

Specialized Triage Area for Patients

Your delivery may begin at our OB Triage area. Our team is able to monitor and evaluate mothers in this special area before they are admitted into the hospital. The area has six private rooms.

Birth Your Way

Norman Regional's team is on your side and strives to give mothers the birth they desire. From non-medicated births to births using medications to control pain, our staff is ready to assist you. We provide birthing balls including peanut-shaped balls for you to use during labor. Labor and delivery rooms are also outfitted with showers that laboring women can use.

After your little one has arrived, we encourage Skin-to-Skin time. For more on Skin-to-Skin please click here. A lactation consultant is at the hospital seven days a week, and all our nurses are trained to help mothers' breastfeed.

After giving birth, mom and baby are moved to the Post-Partum Care floor. The HealthPlex also has a newborn nursery and a neonatal intensive care unit for the care of babies.

Safety and Security

The safety and security of our new moms and babies is a priority at the HealthPlex. The entrance to the Women's and Children's Pavilion is locked between the hours of 9 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. The Women’s and Children’s Pavilion entrance is monitored by NRHS Security while the entrance is locked. Patients and visitors are able to gain entrance during this time by using a provided phone to contact Security. Security will buzz in those who have a need to enter through the Women’s and Children's Pavilion. Others will be encouraged to use the Chest Pain Center entrance.

Care Doesn't Stop When You Leave

Just because you leave our hospital doors, doesn't mean our staff have stopped caring for you. Patients can call (405) 515-3500 with questions about themselves or their newborn. Our lactation consultants also offer outpatient services. Be sure to also check out our Resources for New Parents section of the web site.
