Goldsby Urgent Care Open Saturdays to Meet Flu Season Demand

In response to widespread flu cases and school closures in the area, Norman Regional Urgent Care – Goldsby is extending its hours this weekend to better serve the community.

The clinic will be open on Saturday, February 1, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to provide much-needed care for patients experiencing flu-like symptoms and other urgent health concerns. In addition to Goldsby, Norman Regional also offers weekend same-day care options in Norman and Moore at its Norman Regional Nine and Norman Regional Moore Walk-in Clinics and its Norman Regional Urgent Care – Porter Health Village location.

“Since we opened our Goldsby location, a frequent request from the community has been for weekend urgent care services,” said Temo Ibarra, Director of Primary Care and Growth. “With the current flu outbreak and several local schools closing, we want to be a supportive partner. This Saturday, we’re extending our hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and we plan to continue offering Saturday clinic hours going forward. We will also be adding Sunday hours in May to further meet our community's needs.”

Flu Outbreak and School Closures

Oklahoma is currently experiencing widespread flu activity, with the Oklahoma State Department of Health reporting that flu-like illnesses have surpassed the baseline at 7.1%, with positive flu test results at 34.3%.

Superintendent Nick Migliorino of Norman Public Schools announced that schools will be closed on Friday, January 31, for deep cleaning and disinfecting, in hopes of allowing students and staff time to recover and return to school on Monday, February 3.
