Service Areas
Areas where our adult volunteers serve include:

Customer Service
- Volunteers visit newly admitted patients to check on their admission process
and determine if they have any needs.

The Gift Shop
- Be part of the Auxiliary’s largest revenue-generating effort as a
sales associate or cashier in the hospital’s Gift Shop.

Information Desk
- Volunteers escort patients, assist visitors, provide room numbers and deliver
packages and flowers to patient rooms.

Patient Rounding
- Volunteers visit patients offering complimentary comfort items such as
lip balm, hair combs, puzzle books and more.

The Scrub Shop
- A specialty retail area offering scrubs, shoes & various accessories.
Volunteers assist customers with special orders, sales and stocking the store.
Time Commitment
We ask our adult volunteers for a one year commitment with a minimum of
two shifts per month. While some volunteers do sign up for shifts recurring
weekly or every two weeks, it is very easy to reschedule when flexibility
is needed.

How to Apply
Participants are selected through an application process. Applications
will be reviewed in the order they are received.

The Interview Process
Upon completion of an application, potential volunteers will be called
to schedule a time to meet. At this meeting volunteers will learn about
our service areas and onboarding requirements, and have the opportunity
to have any of their questions answered.
Onboarding for Adult Volunteers
Once selected, new adult volunteers will be required to complete the following:

Orientation
- Each adult volunteer is required to complete an orientation which includes
viewing videos and completing training online, prior to finalizing paperwork
in our office.

Lab Draw
- A one-time screening for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and tuberculosis
is done in the hospital's laboratory at no cost to you.

Flu Shot
- Flu shots are mandatory for all volunteers unless there is a medical or
religious reason a volunteer cannot receive it. In this case, appropriate
documentation must be presented. Flu shots are available at no cost to
the volunteer.

Background Check
- A background check will be done on all volunteers prior to receiving placement.

Annual Education
- All active volunteers must complete an annual training online.

Uniforms
- Uniform tops are provided to volunteers at orientation. Please pair with
white, black or khaki slacks and clean athletic shoes.
