Updates to Services at Norman Regional Health System

At Norman Regional Health System, our mission is to deliver personalized healthcare with compassion and excellence. In order to continue delivering on that mission in the face of rising costs and declining reimbursement we have made the difficult decision to discontinue several service lines.

This change was not made lightly, but it is a necessary step to ensure the long-term financial sustainability and independence of Norman Regional. We remain committed to providing exceptional care in all other areas of the health system.

Clinics Discontinuing Services

Beginning July 3, 2025, the following clinics will no longer be part of Norman Regional Health System:

  • Endocrinology (Only medical Endocrinology, the Para/Thyroid Surgery Clinic remains OPEN)
  • Rheumatology Associates
  • Norman Regional Moore Pediatrics
  • Pediatrics – South OKC
  • Oklahoma Wound Care

We want to emphasize: this does not mean these providers will stop caring for patients. Norman Regional is actively working with each clinic to ensure a smooth transition so that patients can continue receiving care outside of our system. Patients will be notified directly as transition plans are finalized.

Common Questions from Our Community

  • Will my doctor be able to refill my medication? Yes. Providers will continue to refill medications under Norman Regional through July 2, 2025.
  • Can my records be transferred to another physician? Yes. You can have the receiving office send a medical records request to Health Information Management: https://www.normanregional.com/patients-visitors/request-medical-records/
    • Phone: 405-307-1351
    • Fax: 405-515-5291
  • I have a question about my bill. Who do I contact? For questions regarding your bill, please visit our Patient Financial Services page or call patient financial services at 405-307-1318.
  • If an established patient is needing follow up, how can they be helped? Providers will continue to see established patients through July 2, 2025. As that date approaches, clinic hours may be adjusted. Patients will be notified of any scheduling changes.
  • What will happen to employees at the clinics? We are doing everything we can to support those affected, including providing severance, benefits continuation, and emotional support resources. Some but not all employees have found jobs in other areas of the health system.

What This Means for Norman Regional Pediatric Care

While we are no longer offering outpatient pediatric-specific care, children and teens can still be cared for by many of our Family Medicine providers. These board-certified providers are trained to treat patients of all ages — infants through seniors.

Changes to Services at Ortho Central

Norman Regional has also made the difficult decision to close Ortho Stat. Ortho Central is still open and ready to serve you. Only the Ortho Stat orthopedic urgent care clinic is closing. All Ortho Central clinics remain open.

To schedule an orthopedic appointment, call 405-360-6764. For same-day orthopedic care, please visit one of our emergency departments, Walk-In clinics or Urgent Care clinics.

More Upcoming Changes

As part of our efforts to reduce overhead costs and operate more efficiently, some Norman Regional Primary Care clinic locations will be consolidated in the near future. These decisions are not taken lightly, and we understand they may cause concern or inconvenience.

We are committed to maintaining your continuity of care by keeping providers within the health system and relocating them to centrally located clinics that remain accessible to the community. Our goal is for you to continue receiving care from the providers you know and trust.

If your provider is moving to a new location, you will be contacted directly with details and next steps.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these changes and continue to adapt in order to serve you better, both now and in the future.
