Norman Regional Health System offers several different class options to
help you prepare for the arrival of your newest family member!
Whether you need to watch classes from home or can join us in person, we
have several different options to meet your specific needs and schedule
preferences.
The in-person Childbirth Class is offered both as a series and as an intensive weekend class. The series is taught over four nights, and includes topics on premature labor, stages of labor, coping tools, breathing and relaxation, a birth film and medications. Early registration for this course is advised. It is suggested to begin the class series around the 28th week of pregnancy.
Duration: 2-night series during the week from 6:30 - 9 p.m., or one Saturday from
9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. for the weekend class.

Norman Regional’s online Childbirth Class is the perfect alternative
for busy parents needing a flexible class schedule or for moms on bed rest.
Have you given birth before? The online class is a great refresher course!
This online class contains the same important information as the in-person
class. The user-friendly program guides expectant parents through quality,
evidence-based information at their own pace. All that’s needed
is internet access.
Once registered for the online class, parents will receive an access code
and additional information. Families will learn about the stages of labor,
comfort techniques, common medical procedures, including epidurals and
cesareans, and newborn and postpartum care. Engaging videos, personal
birth stories, 3D animations, games and activities make learning through
this program fun!

The American Academy of Pediatrics and World Health Organization have identified the importance of breastfeeding for at least the first six months for the benefit of both mom and baby. This hands on class instructed by a Norman Regional Lactation Consultant, will focus on proper latch, positioning, breastfeeding lifestyle, milk supply, getting off to a great start, and more! Light refreshments will be provided. For our evening class participants, please feel free to bring your dinner. Price listed includes participant and spouse/partner.

Norman Regional’s online breastfeeding class is the perfect alternative for busy parents needing a flexible schedule. Class topics will include proper latch, positioning, breastfeeding lifestyle and milk supply. This online course also offers several language options. Simply enroll in this online course and instructions will be included in your confirmation email.

This one-day class covers newborn care, newborn capabilities, parenting skills, soothing techniques, feeding issues, infant safety, baby products, infant bathing and Family & Friends CPR. A healthcare professional from Norman Regional will speak and answer participant questions. This class should be taken before delivery or adoption of a newborn (preferably in the third trimester).
Pillows are not required, but you may bring them if you desire. Also, snacks are not offered so feel free to bring something to eat/drink. We cover a lot of materials in this class, so you may want to bring note taking materials.
